A great and must read article: 2005 ford mustang for sale

Q: What is the cheapest supercharger for a 2005 ford mustang v6?
I have a 2005 Ford Mustang v6 and was wondering if there was a supercharger for around $2000

A: NO2 is the closest…

Q: How do I make engine modifications to a 2005 Ford Mustang GT?
I am writing a novel called “Geared” about drift racing and included a scene at an auto shop with the mechanic changing a car engine for a Ford Mustang GT 2005 model but how does a mechanic actually do this for this specific car. I looked up how to change a car engine on Wikihow and used that information for the scene but wasn’t sure if different car engines require specific different techniques.

A: you could buy a cold air intake and just install it.
here’s a site where you can buy them: http://www.americanmuscle.com/05-07-mustang-air-intakes.html

If you don’t want to spend that much money then you could just buy some styling mods to install, they won’t do anything, but they make the engine look nice.

Also if you really want to go all out you could install a supercharger: http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustang-superchargers.html

Q: Is it OK to supercharge a 2005 Ford Mustang GT WITHOUT an intercooler?
I am considering buying a used 2005 Ford Mustang stock GT and supercharging it. The best supercharger for the Mustang GT appears to be a Whipple twin Screw type that produces about 6 psi of boost, and as a result improves HP at the rear wheels to about 405, which is is pretty dramatic. However, this Whipple setup does NOT come with an intercooler. My question is, is it “safe” to bolt on this much power without an intercooler??? Thanks for your answers.

A: yes it is safe to do so, but i would not recommend that. i would rather pay a little more for a kit with an intercooler.

always keep in mind that increased temps under the hood can kill your engine and rob some horses. i had a procharger with an UPGRADED intercooler and it was keeping temps under the stock conditions and making 530 horses on the tires.
there are also intercooled Whipple setups on the market, but the price for those would be a little higher than non intercooled. but it’s worth of paying for an intercooled kit.

however, if you have a stock engine and getting a non intercooled kit, be sure you stay around 5-6 psi and not more than 420rwhp. You also might want to use methanol injection to cool the engine down and add horses.

hope that helps

Q: I want to get a paddle shifting kit for my 2005 ford mustang gt automatic. Where do i get it?
I want to get a paddle shifting kit for my 2005 ford mustang gt automatic. I want to be able to use the paddle shifting but switch to automatic when i feel like it.
Where do i get it?
How much would it cost?

A: http://mastershift.com/new-street-auto.html#proddesc

a couple grand?

Q: How much is insurance for a 2000 to a 2005 ford mustang v6 or v8?
how much is insurance for a 2000 to a 2005 ford mustang v6 or v8 for a 17 year old male with average grades

A: I have met similiar kind of problem before, here   www.Autoinsurancepro.info   is the resource that I feel helpful..

Q: How is the 2005 Ford Mustang?
Im looking into a buying ford mustang. 2005. Its a standard. I was wondering what everyone who has owned ones opinion is on this car? How does it drive? Is it good on gas? How do you guys like it?

A: I have an 07 and I love it.

Are you going for V6 or V8
(cause GT’s usually cost more insurance-wise)

Now mine’s just the V6 so it’s not blistering fast of course, but it def has enough HP for traffic/tight situations.

There can be a quarter sec lag or so if it’s in the middle of changing gears when you floor it, otherwise it’s pretty quick.

Front Seats are comfy and the driver’s seat is usually adjustable for height/length. Though I wouldn’t recommend you put anyone in the backseat over 12. I mainly use mine for storage, lol

Steering is pretty responsive/tight so you def feel in tune with the car when you’re driving.

the ride’s not too bad, it’s a little hard for the big bumps of course but otherwise fine

Gas mileage is decent with the V6 (V8 forget it) I found out my 07 can go from Longbeach to San Diego on practically a quarter tank at freeway speed w/ no problems, otherwise it’s in the low to mid 20’s.

Q: How do I maximize gas mileage in my 2005 Ford mustang?
I have a V6 five speed and I just got some new tires. I would like to maximize the mileage I get out of it. Also, is there anything I should be mindful of when taking care of my Mustang? This is my first Ford, so I’m not sure what to be careful of. Thanks.

A: There are few thing you can do to save (or maximize) gas MPG. First get a tune-up.

(1) spark plugs
(2) spark plug wires
(3) distributors, coil, rotors (if you have them).
(4) new air filter
(5) PCV
(6) correct tire pressure
(7) clear the trunk of useless heavy items
(8) spray clean MAF sensor.

====

Forget all those “SAVE GAS” scams. This was on NBC morning TV show. The difference is as much as 38% (their claim). There are very simple rules to save gas:

(1) drive slow – not too much past 55
(2) accelerate slowly
(3) don’t brake unnecessarily
(4) use cruise control – whenever it is safe to do so.

Don’t coast – it is NOT safe (to coast in Nuetral) and it does NOT save gas. It only saves gas, if you are planning to slow down (exiting, tolls, traffic). Coasting then accelerating again is LESS efficient than just cruising.

The above really works. Using those simple rules I was able to drive from Boston to NYC (210.5 miles) on just 5.112 gallon (94 Civic). That’s 41 MPG (94 Civic 187K miles). Actually I was speeding at 72 MPH so I could do even better at 55.

WOW !!

Good Luck…

Q: Whats the best mods for a 2005 ford mustang GT?
i just want to have some other perspectives on what i should do to my 2005 mustang GT to increase HP and torque and can someone also tell me what is better and the ups and downs of superchargers vs. turbochargers?

A: start with standard bolt on installations:

-cold air intake
-75mm throttle body
-performance exhaust – catbacks, & x-pipe (best names are bassani, magnaflow, borla, slp, flowmaster)
-performance headers
-3.73 gears in the rear end
-short throw shift
-re tune engine management system with a tuning chip (diablo predator for example

(you can ck these out at “american muscle” or “lethal performance” online websites)

the later model mustang 4.6 engine & its stock components are quite strong and can be taken to about 420-430hp on stock bottom end/stock heads.

supercharger & turbo are both forced induction systems and both make the same power when installed at equivalent levels of induction (“boost”, measured in p.s.i.)

generally to get you to 420hp, will be a relatively moderate (mild boost (about 9 p.s.i.) and in this case a supercharger is generally best:
-its lighter (no pipes/plumbing)
-run cooler
-delivers power earlier & in a more linear fashion
-cheaper & much easier to install

you have lots of options (generally the twins screws like kenne bell or whipple are best suited to mustang block as they tend to deliver power early & very steady)………but to name the most popular, kenne bell, whipple, vortech, paxton, procharger., which i think all have bolt on installations for your car.

if you want to search our turbo installations the following companies have installations specifically made for later model mustangs (they all have websites:
hellion power systems; turbohorsepower.com; turbochargedpower.com( this co does twin turbo installations);
powerhouse.com……….there are others.

cheers 04 cobra
(built out, supercharged – whipple blower at 15 p.s.i, measured at
575rwHP on a dyno)

Q: Can I get my 2005 Ford Mustang Gt engine put in my 2005 Honda Civic LX?
Can I get my 2005 Ford Mustang Gt engine put in my 2005 Honda Civic LX?
Is there any way to get my honda engine to crank out 225+ horsepower besides saying supercharger because there is not one for my honda?

A: On the LX model, no. But with an engine swap ,the K20A from the civic SI, or RSX type-s you could almost double the horsepower you have now.

Q: I need to jack up my 2005 Ford Mustang a few inches…?
I have a 2005 Ford Mustang and it has a body kit. The body kit is so low to the ground that i cant go over speed bumps and I am constantly grinding it on the ground on big dips and hills in the road. I need to gain a few more inches of ground clearance and I dont really want to have to buy new tires/wheels. What is the best way to do this?

A: If you’ve already lowered the car I would recommend going back to a stock suspension setup. There’s no *good* way to raise the car without negatively affecting handling, you will most likely encounter problems with tire wear as well due to the fact that you changed the suspension geometry.

Buying new tires/wheels really won’t solve the problem. An adjustable suspension would help but would also be quite expensive.

Keep in mind that adjustable shocks are NOT intended to change ride-height, they are adjustable so that you can fine-tune the suspension response for race applications.

Q: Any suggestions on what to get to patch a whole in the top of my rag top convertible 2005 Ford Mustang?
I have a 05 Mustang it appears as if someone has poked a small pin hole in it…It is bound to spread because it has already begun the process. Is their anyway to solve the problem. In addition, any suggestions on shampoo to get to protect and clean the top of my car. I’ve been looking for a good reasonably priced item to protect and clean it, because the sun is begining to take its toll on my poor car.

A: I seriously doubt that the roof is amde of a natural fiber,,most likely some sort of nylon or rayon . ‘You can use armorall on it to protect it from the sun. As for the hole–do you have a hot glue gun??. The glue is good for putting patches on that stay.
Just don’t touch the roof with the gun itself,,just the glue.

Q: Whats the best performance upgrade(s) that i can get with $500 for a 2005 Ford Mustang V6?
I have a stock 2005 Mustang V6 i want to add some more HP and sound. What can i do with about $500??

A: Chip it. A computer performance upgrade. The injection system is run on a computer which talks to the O2 sensors to determine the optimal rate of fuel and air mixture resulting in the best overall economy. Adding an aftermarket chip will change the parameters at which the injection system runs at. Basically giving it a NEW goal at which to run at.

Q: How much gas will it take to drive a 2005 Ford Mustang from Los Angeles, CA to New York, NY?
Ford Mustang, v6(the one thats better on gas!)

A: The Mustang with the 4.0 V6 gets about 19/28 mpg. It has a 16 gallon tank. It’s roughly 2,778 miles from Los Angeles, CA to New York, NY with almost all highway driving.

Doing a little bit of math, it’ll be anywhere between 100 and 115 gallons of gas (give or take a few).

Q: How can I get my 2005 ford mustang v6 faster?
I need to know! I am getting an exhaust system (flowmaster) that will only add 5 to 7% horse power (and to make it louder). But what else to make it faster?

A: Got money? Vortech has superchargers made for V6’s. If not u can go wit cold air kit, bigger throttle body, bigger mass air sensor, underdrive pulleys, fuel pressure regulator, these are things u can do yuorself. If u want more power you can rebuild your bottom end.

Q: What would be a good asking price for my 2005 Ford Mustang?
It is a coupe, 6 cyl, automatic. Black and in excellent condition. approximately 46,000 miles. I also purchased an extended warranty to cover it to 100,000 miles/10 years.

Nothing at all wrong with the car, my fiance and I wanted to start a family soon and getting a carseat in and out of a Mustang backseat didn’t sound like fun. ;)
