A great and must read article: 2007 ford mustang for sale

Q: 2007 mustang gt/cs for sale?

A: Mark l’s little sister has a black fastback GT/CS. She doesn’t let me drive it.

Q: 2007 Ford Mustang?
There is a 2007 Ford Mustang for sale with 30,000 miles on it for 14,500 including tax, title, and tags. Is this a good deal, and what do you think of the new mustangs?
-It is red with the premium package, just no leather seats.

A: Sounds like a fair price. I like the look, I think my next car is going to be a Mustang GT.

Q: Price of a Used mustang gt?
There is a 2007 Used mustang GT for sale for $12,000 at a nissan dealership. Its in very good shape..Its got a hood scoop , body kit , a spoiler in the back , duel exhaust , and has never been in any accidents. There is 32,000 miles on it. Is this a good buy?

A: Sounds like it to me, I looked at a 09 GT with the glass roof and they wanted about 32,000 for it so your get one for about half price! just broken in, sounds real good to me!

Q: Why did Camaro and Trans Ams sales slip, compared to the Mustang?
How did the Camaro and Trans Am’s sales fall so low that GM cut production?

For about the same price as the Mustang, the Camaro and Trans Am were always a bit more powerful. (Even the 1999-2004 Mustangs only had a 190 HP V6 and the a 260 HP V8, While 1998-2002 Camaros and Firebirds had a 200 HP V6 and a 305 HP V8 engine. Still the 2007 Mustang GT falls short of 5 HP than the 1998-2002 Camaro, which is several years older).

Mustang enthusiast had to buy the more expensive Mustang Cobra to have comparable times to the base Camaro z28 and Trans Am.

With the Camaros and Trans Ams being more powerful, how is it that they’re production numbers fell?

A: For one thing, some corrections are in order.

The question shoud be phrased with “Firebird” not “Trans Am” because that was what the base model was.

Additionally, you claim the Mustang was available with up to 260hp, but then you mention the Cobra. Why do you make that distinction, yet you don’t make it for the WS6/SS packages? You’re not comparing apples to apples, especially considering the Z/28 and Trans Am’s base engine was around 285hp. This can also be argued when you point out the older Camaro makes more than the current GT. What about the Shelby GT? GT500? GT500KR?

The F-bodies sold in combined numbers that were not equal to the Mustang’s. Why was that?

For one thing, the Mustang’s core buyers were women. The Mustang was not overstyled like the F-bodies, so visibility was better, ingress/egress was better, and it was just a more comfortable car.

Meanwhile, the F-bodies were clearly targeted to men. And when they got that insurance bill, they often decided to get another vehicle – in many cases, pickup trucks with RWD.

The plant in Canada that built these cars were better utilized to building cars were GM could make a decent profit, which was very important because GM was not in great shape at the time. Blaming bean counters is not telling the whole story, and I don’t blame GM for getting rid of the cars – they just didn’t have the resources to redesign them, especially considering they needed to sell a certain amount that just wasn’t happening. But time heals wounds, and we all know the Camaro is coming back.

Horsepower is not the clincher in the sales wars. The F-bodies were difficult cars for a large percentage of auto buyers, and their needs were better met by the Mustang or smaller, more practical sport coupes.

Q: can i haggle a car down from $17,000 to $12,000?
i really want a 2007 mustang that is for sale, but i can only afford 12k. is this impossible? thanks

A: Are you familiar with Kelley Blue Book? It’s the organization that determines price value for used vehicles.

Since you didn’t specify if it was a convertible and/or a GT, I simply did Blue Book value for a 2007 V6 Coupe, and in Excellent condition that value comes to $12,140 in my zip code. What this is means is: if the car you’re looking at fits that criteria (V6 Coupe), then you should pay any MORE than $12k.

Q: 2007 Ford Mustang for firrst car??
Ok my dad knows this dude that owns a car lot and the dude that owns it goes to ford sales and he said he could get me one for about $10,000
My dad said that would be a good car for me, wut do you all think??

What about gas, maintenence, reliablity, power, ride comfort???

Would i enjoy this car?? we test drove one and we really liked it and thought it rode a little rough, maybe it was just that car, or the tires it had one it

A: Oh there is SOO much wrong information here from these other uninformed, biased people! Ok, here we go.
-Mustangs are just as reliable as any other car if you properly maintain them.
-Mustangs are not huge gas hogs, considering the performance you get in return. If you want 35 miles per gallon, buy a Focus. If you are redlining the car constantly from stoplight to stoplight, yes you will go through a lot of gas.
-Getting into a Mustang will NOT automatically jack up your insurance rates. When I was 21, I went from an Escort (4 cylinder) to a Mustang GT (V8) and my rates went DOWN. Why, you ask? Because I had a clean record. Your record matters way more than the car.
-If the one you drove felt rough, it may have been a GT, which has a little bit stiffer springs, or the tires were hard. Mine doesn’t ride rough at all.
-Don’t worry about long term reliability. My 1998 is past 135,000 miles and has never leaked, blown an engine or transmission, or anything like that. I got 30 miles per gallon once on a long highway trip. With mixed city and highway driving, I get 24 mpg all the time. Not exactly a gas hog.

Q: Used Ford Mustang GT500 Cobra 2007, Thinking of buying, what should the Price be?
I tried to use Blue book and it said they could not get a price on one of them. Ford dealer wants $40,299. That still very close to the price for a new one is. It was like new really, but its way over price me and my dad and even the sales thought. What do you think the price should be?
10,000 on it

A: I would deffinately not pay more then $36,000. I can find a bunch from private sellers that have half the milage and they are asking between $35,000 and $38,000. If I were you, I would take a look at private sellers. Since you will be buying a car that has so few miles on it and you buy from an adult you know the car wont be abused and the factory warranty will still be present. Not only will you find a car for a lot less but on top of that you will save thousands because you wont have to pay sales tax. You are probally looking at saving at least $5,000 by going with a private seller.

Q: What happens when you get pre-approved for a car loan?
Right now I am in a tough situation. My 2004 Dodge is going to die any day now (well, the transmission anyway). I found a 2007 Ford Mustang for sale at 15k. I am able to put 800 down and pray that I can trade my car for another grand off of the selling price. Right now I am just waiting on a pre-approval from a bank but I was wondering what happens when you get pre-approved? Do you have to wait for information to be sent in by mail? Or can you just go to a car dealership right away? Sorry, this is my first time financing a car.

A: Financed cars is more expensive to insurance cause it requires full coverage. You can compare how much you would pay for full coverage of this car using this tool – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: Conformation question – would he be okay as a trail horse?
I’m looking at Mustangs for sale from the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary – and pretending I can buy one. :) (Already have two, can’t board a third.)
This one is cute, but his front legs worry me. I am NOT going to get him, FOR SURE. I am JUST CURIOUS if he could be used as a trail horse. Assuming he’s broke and gelded. :)

http://wildmustangs.com/2007mustangs7.html
He is the solid bay on the third row down on the right.
I don’t know what the link will bring you too, but he is on “2007 Mustangs page 7″.
I was actually looking for a cute horse to draw. And I just like looking at horses for sale, just to see what they are going for, etc. And I like Mustangs. :)

And I know that it’s based more on the disposition, but when horses have a severe conformation flaw, such as this colt, it can make it harder for them to do things. Look at his front legs, compared to the buckskin filly above and to the left of his picture. Her’s are fairly strait and his are “bent”.
And when I said “assuming he’s broke and gelded”, I meant ASSUME he is broke and gelded, even though he is not.
An unbroke stallion doesn’t make a good trail horse – I know that.

To make it easier for you to understand…..
If I bought him and wanted to use him as a trail horse (which I don’t) I would break him (duh) and geld him…

A: He has definite flaws, but he could be used for light trail riding and make someone a great companion….we can’t all be stellar athletes….but that doesn’t mean we don’t have value. He is just the right horse for just the right person.

Q: Mustang Odometer Question?
In an 02′ Mustang that I have considered purchasing the dealer says that it has 53,000 miles on the car, it is a V6 and they only want $7800? Its in excellent condition with leather, spoiler etc. and has been for sale sine Oct 11, 2007 (Books at $10,000) Why wouldn’t it sell faster? Has it rolled over? From 99,999 back to 0 and up?

I have ran a CarFax and its good for all but one spot.

12/17/2002 2,891mi
05/05/2003 63,808mi?
06/19/2004 18,763mi
11/24/2004 23,332mi
5/11/2005 25,135mi

And so on with the miles consistently up until today, where it is reported on CarFax at 49,000 and 53,000 at the dealership.

So is it 53,000 miles or 153,000 miles?

Thanks so much, Kyle

A: I seriously doubt anyone put over 60k miles on it in 5 months, it’s probably an error with CarFax.

$7800 is a little high for a V6, actually, but either way, I’d have to believe the mileage the dealer is claiming is accurate.

A: It looks like a rental car 30k in one year . Driven 90 miles a day everyday. Have them show you proof of all oil changes and services before you get this car.
