A: Each 8″ sub in the door has its own amplifier, located high up under the dash above the kick panels.

If you have the Shaker 1000 system, the rear subs have an amplifier located behind the sub enclosure.

Only the Shaker subwoofers use factory amplifiers. The other speakers are driven by the head unit’s built-in amp.

ok dont anwser this question if your a dumb wannabe car guy. the 08 cobalts are not supercharged they have a turbo with 260 horses.

A: These are the 0-60 times and top speed.

The Mustang accelerates quicker.
But the Cobalt has a higher top speed due to its small size and aerodyanmics and handles much better due to its light weight.

These performance figures are for the Manual versions. Automatic is slower.

Mustang GT

Top speed of 146mph.

Cobalt SS
0-60 in 5.7 seconds.
Top speed of 155mph.

The Cobalt can win in a drag race if the Mustang GT driver has the automatic transmission Or has better reaction times and shifts better.

Whenever I see a picture of the 08 mustang GT at night it has its fog lights on (the two middle lights), It looks much cooler to have all four lights on at night, but i’m not sure if I should drive around at night with the fog lights on.

I found a cool emblem I want to buy but it is for a 94-98 mustang. Is there any way it will it fit on my 08 gt?

A: If it’s just a emblem, you should be able to adapt it, but the cars are totally different and grills don’t interchange..

Q: How to make a 08 Mustang GT Faster?
I have an 08 Mustgang GT Automatic California special V8 4.6L. I’m curious on how to make it faster and sound louder. Anyone have any suggestions for me? I’d appreciate it. Also any websites where I can look at the stuff.

A: The best way to add sound and speed without braking the bank in your situation is to add cat back exhaust and cold air intake. You can buy and have the above installed for a total of about $500. You will get around 30-40hp and your car will sound awesome. Go with either magnaflow or flowmaster exhaust and definitely make sure you go with the 3.5″ exhaust. Don’t make the mistake I did at first and get 2.5” exhaust. Just do the 3.5” from the start. It sounds great!! After you do those mods you can consider doing headers, a chip or preferably a tuner, and some under drive pulleys. Some people might tell you to do gears, but I would just leave them stock or at the most go with like 373’s but don’t go into the 4’s unless you only plan to use your car at the track. With 4’s it makes it hard to drive at freeway speeds. You can also consider doing nitrous some time in the future, but I personally don’t like nitrous, I like power that I can use every time I hit the gas pedal instead of power I always have to refill and can only use every once and a while. I would rather take that money and put it into a savings account and start saving up for a supercharger if you want to add more power.

A: Have you ever seen the white ball shifter on the 2012 Shelby GT500s? They look nice, also are your seats leather or cloth? How about the gauges in the dash. You can get creative with that. It really depends on how much money you want to spend, but a bunch of little things add up, like adding nice floormats, maybe even add a new steering wheel, they don’t cost much. 2008 Mustang GT Auto, 4.6 V8. Which intake system is the best for the money, hp, and mpg. K&N, Ford Racing, Ram, Brenspeed?

A: K&N is the best bet. they have a low restriction inlet tube that wont collapse and flex under high pressure when ur engine is gasping for more air. and its a lot more cheaper than a lot of the other ones out there. Also, u might want to keep in mind that u might and might not get a hp gain, or a mpg gain out of it. all cars are different. i did an intake and BBK throttle body(ported now) and i only got 15 horses out of those two mods. so dont be suprised if u only get about 2 or 3hp. but ur lucky if u get above 10hp.

Q: How long should I expect for my mechanic to change the rearend gears in my 08 mustang gt?

A: This is a job you don’t want to hurry. Even if flat rate calls for 6 hours (I haven’t checked) 6 hours to change rearend gears and make all the necessary adjustments is rushing it. Give your mechanic at least a couple days and don’t rush him (or her), you may be less than happy with the results, rushing your mechanic tends to cause less than satisfactory results.

Q: is it possible to add an amp with two 10 inch subs to a stock 08 mustang headunit with stock speakers?
would it sound too bad, would it even be possible or do i need to replace the head unit and the speakers?

A: all you need is a line output converter.

this goes behind the headunit, and you splice into the speaker wires of the car. this will give you a preout that you can use to run the rca cables to your amp for the subwoofer.

no it won’t sound bad.

well you need a LOC and everything else necessary to run an amp such as power wires, remote wires, speaker wires etc.

oh yea and you can get one cheaply at walmart, or you can get one from some other car audio shop.

Eclipse CD 7200 mkII, CD7100, CD 5000, CD 7000
Nakamichi 300, 400, 500
Pioneer 880prs
Kenwood Excelon
Nakamichi will deliver the best sound quality but has many mechanical and build issues. They also lack features. The next best thing for sound quality will be the higher end Eclipse decks. I have owned the CD 4000 and have auditioned their new line up that includes their highest CD 7200 mkII. Well the new line up and the old lineup have some of the worst usabilty problems. The newer decks have big and stiff volume knobs. Weird buttons to access everything from. I have heard good things about the Pioneer 880, but for the price you can get something with more features and better sq. I have also auditioned Alpines newest lineup. The CDA 9887 is a nice unit but cost over $100 more than the 9886. The only difference between the two is the built in imprint sound which I have not heard any great things about. Alpine definitely wins the usability and looks department. If I had $350 to spend right now on a new unit, my choice would go to the Alpine CDA 9886.

A: If you have enough money and fabrication skills almost anything is possible.Just buy the older models that already have older style V8’s in them,there better cars than the new junk there selling now.
