Q: 2008 Mustang?
Okay, in about 4 years I will be able to drive. I really want a ford 2008 mustang convertable. How much would it cost in four years?? I have a deal with my grandparents that I have to pay at least 2000 of it…so how much would it end up being for a total cost. Having a custom color… does that cost extra?? Please help if you can. If you can’t don’t answer this!
A: I own a 2008 mustang and bought it brand new from a dealer for 18,000. If you figure the depriciation value of 15% per year and with a 3 year max, you can get a used one with about 45,000 miles on it for 8,700 to 12,000 depending on what packages you get. I am going to say about 9,200 for the base model in 4 years. And as for the paint, it is costly to have a car’s color changed. They have to sand it down, use a fine grit paper to get rid of any coarseness, and then they have to prime it, then use many coats to paint it. You are looking around the lines of anywhere from 4,000 to 8,000 depending on what kind of quote you get and how much the labor charge is. To get a custom color, they will have you choose from a chart and have you choose from a gloss paint, a metallic paint, and a pearlescent paint.
Q: What wheels are available for a 2008 Mustang ordered from the factory?
I’m about to order a 2008 Mustang, and I want to see if it’s possible to get any wheels besides the 17″ or 18″ painted, machine-cast, or polished aluminum wheels. Would it be possible to get 20″ polished aluminum or black (any size) if ordered from the factory, or would I have to swap after the car has been delivered?
A: go to ford.com and download a brochure.
Larger wheels (like 19″ or 20″) will increase your braking distances and reduce your acceleration because of increased rotational inertia. For best braking and acceleration, you want the smallest diameter wheels that will clear the brakes.
Take a look at these:

Q: How much trouble will I have swapping a 2008 mustang gt engine into an older 60’s mustang?
I most recently ran into a deal for a wrecked from the rear 2008 Mustang GT. I would like to find an older 60’s Mustang and swap the engine and transmission into the older car. The 08 mustang is complete with everything computer etc.
A: Your Idea is great !!!!
This is called a Resto Mod.
Taking todays drivetrain and installing it in an Older car.
They sell well at Barrett Jackson, if done right.
Now the Year model is what you need to study.
What is the best year model ? 67 68 69 70 71 72 73 ?
I’ve seen the 69 Sportsroof (fastback) done with 06 GT500
Also a 07 California GT stuffed into a 68 Coupe.
No 64 1/2, 65, 66, just not recommended for this
You can upgrade brakes to aftermarket or use your donor car
And yes you need to gut your Older car and this will be a ground up, Better than restoring, also most new car when done.
Read more about Resto Mod ’s cars.
Cuda’s with the Newer Hemi are the most done cars.
Q: How do I raise the back end of a 2008 Mustang?
I have a 2008 Mustang and would like to raise the back end for a hot rod look! How can I do this inexpensively?
A: You can get that Hot Rod look with just tires.
Go get some traditional American Mags 5-spoke. Buy 14″ for the front, 15″ or 16″ for the back. Put 215s in the front and 235s in the back both the same height either 60’s or 70s. Paint the Brake Calipers Flame Red. You’ll get that raked look without a rear end lift.
Q: What kind of mufflers are stock on the 2008 Ford Mustang?
Besides calling them “stock” mufflers, what details can I know about the mufflers that are stock on a 2008 Mustang GT? What style are they? What brand would be similar if I wanted to customize a different vehicle with Mustang-style mufflers?
A: Ford Brand mufflers.
Q: Where is the manual trunk release on a 2008 mustang coup?
I have a 2008 Mustang Coup, and I cannot find a manual trunk release inside the veh…I have checked the manual no where inside does it say where the trunk release is. I checked the glove compartment but didnt see anything. Does this vehical have a release or can the trunk only be opened using the remote on the keychain?
A: There is no manual trunk release on the latest generation Mustang. You have to either use the remote key fob, or put the key in the lock on the trunk (like in the old days)

Q: What other vehicles have the same wheel bolt pattern as a 2008 Mustang?
I have a set of wheels from a 2008 Mustang, and I want to know what other vehicles I might be able to put them on later.
A: The bolt pattern on these cars is 5 x 4.5″ (5 x 114.3mm). However, bolt pattern is not the only consideration – there are a lot of vehicles that have the same bolt pattern but the offset and backspacing are not correct for their application.
This article better describes the wheel dimensions if you’re unfamiliar:
http://www.americanmuscle.com/wheel-tech-guide.html
The stock backspacing on the 2008 Mustang wheels (17×8) is 6.295″ with a +45mm offset. This should help determine what other vehicles will be able to use these wheels.

Q: When is the best time to buy a new 2008 mustangs since the 2009 mustang is coming in?
I live in fresno, ca 92320. I can get a new stock mustang 2008 b6auto for 17,500. i can get a used 06 convertible loaded v6 for about 16,000. With the release of the 09 mustang in May, when is the best time to buy a mustang so i get the cheapest price?
A: At the end of the year, December. The lots have deals and will let last years cars go cheaper because they don’t want to have to pay the taxes for keeping them on the lot any longer
Q: In Midnight Club Los Angeles I have a few question about the 2008 S302 Extreme Mustang?
Can you modify the exterior even though it’s already specially modified?
Can you add Fog Lights?
Can you change the bumper/exhaust setup to look more like a 2008 Mustang GT?
A: It will have a few options for bumpers, exhaust, and other exterior parts. No fog lamps that I remember. Can’t really make it look like a Mustang, though.
Q: Whats the best add-on to get my 2008 mustang GT with Borla stingers on it the loudest while keeping it legal?
I currently have a 2008 Mustang GT, dropped 2 inches, 20 inch Shelby wheels, with borla stinger mufflers on it. I’m trying to get the car a little louder and am not much of an exhaust guru, anyone have any suggestions on the best add-on to get it louder while keeping it legal as well?
A: If you want it louder with the Borla Stingers, you could change out the mid-pipes for an X-pipe which flows more and is louder than the factory H pipe. You can find them here:
http://www.americanmuscle.com/05-07-mustang-exhaust.html
Hope this helps, Good Luck!
Q: what is the cheapest insurance for a 2008 mustang?
i was paying $157 on a 2000 dodge ram 1500. i recently purchased a 2008 mustang v6 coupe and my rates have increased dramatically. Over $600 dollars a month. I am currently insured with farmers. I also have an 18 year old son. What is the cheapest auto insurance out there? Also I would appreciate any other advise in lowering auto insurance rates
A: I recommend you this site where you can compare quotes so you can find the best option for you

Q: Will the Shelby GT500 be available with a factory Glass Roof option like the 2008 Mustang GTs?
Ford recently announced a factory glass roof option for 2008+ Mustangs for about $2k. It was not clear in the Ford press release if the GT500 will have this option.
A: From my knowledge this will not be an option on Shelbys but a option on v6 and Gt mustangs in the 2009 model year.
Q: How risky is it to drive an 2008 Mustang GT 2000mile driving into mexico
Ok Im planning to take an 2008 Mustang GT to mexico.I plan to stay and visit my family for about a mouth. i found out u need to get a permit to drive USA cars into mexico ($32usd) in order to get that permit u need permission from the bank if u finance which a do with the car. In order to get permission u need mexican insurance ($200 a month) then u get permission from bank u show it to mexican embassy they’ll give u a sticker that u put in the windshield. Now I thought that was it but no when u cross the border from Tucson arizona at the border u need to pay a $400 deposit not to mention also the $400 dollars gas bill one way; if u get back when u return “with the car” that if u return with the car u get ur $400 deposit back, I mean some one told me that it to risky to take that type of car to mexico because u got drug dealers that want to steal ur car by force “AK-47″
and then u think that the police would help u but no they want a cut too if they stop u and they will because u got California plates and they also want to steal ur car or give them money about $200 usually convince them to let u go. Then where Im going there is about 30 tolls i dont mean bridge’s either i mean U know why they call Freeways freeways because it’s free u don’t get charge to use freeways in mexico u get charge $10 US dollars per toll and u think $5 is to much to pay when u cross the golden-gate bridge in SFO, or interstate there is a total of 30 where im heading. From northern cali to the part of mexico Guadalajara jalisco is 2.5 day drive depending on speed asuming u drive 85 which u wont because in mexico the roads are not as great so u will probly be pushing more like 60-73 MPH. so what is it that dangerous as it is or what?
A: I have driven from San Francisco to Guadalajara a bunch of times.
You have the car permit thing correct except if you have a credit card you can leave that for a deposit, and you do it when you get the sticker (permit) you can either do it before at the consulate or at the boarder. (it is better to do it at the consulate, cuz it’s a bitch if you forgot some paper and you are already at the boarder)
The tolls from Nogales to GDL are about 126 USD each way.
http://aplicaciones4.sct.gob.mx/sibuac_internet/ControllerUI?action=cmdSolRutas
And unless you plan to drive 24/7 you will not make it in 2.5 days. You are right that on some roads you can go very fast. (up to probably 100 MPH easy.) But on others you will be going 35 to 40 MPH (like between Mazatlan and Tepic there is no toll road yet, so you re on the “libre” .
By the time you pay for everything, Gas, tolls, insurance, hotel, permits wear and tear on your car , its cheaper to fly.
It not as dangerous as everyone says , we have Hummers , BMW and all kinds of nice cars here and they are not stolen by Narcos……
But is is cheaper, easier, and faster to fly, If you want to save some money and see the country side , and are not in a hurry , take the bus
